With a lifetime of agricultural experience, Shae Toburen comes to Farm Talk Newspaper as the newest member of the advertising sales staff.
Growing up in southwest Missouri, Toburen grew up helping her father at his backgrounding feedlot and riding horses. She also played softball and was active in her local FFA chapter, holding offices her junior and senior years.
“I cannot remember a time in my life that didn’t have to do with agriculture,” Toburen said. “Whether it was with horses or cattle, it’s been in my blood and I thank the Lord every day for that.”
A softball scholarship brought the Ash Grove native to southeast Kansas.
“I liked the area so much I didn’t want to move back,” Toburen said.
Toburen formerly worked for the Parsons Livestock Market and Commercial Bank but is happy to now be at Farm Talk.
She enjoys shooting sporting clays with friends and her husband, Doug, and relaxing at home with their four-legged family. She also likes to make and build things and loves anything with horses. In the future, she hopes to start barrel racing again.
Toburen will be assisting Farm Talk advertisers in Missouri and Arkansas and in the eastern most counties of Kansas and Oklahoma.
“It’s exciting to be in a job that’s getting me closer to agriculture,” Toburen said. “I’m looking forward to meeting new people.”
She said she hopes to help the paper grow and is looking forward to making more contacts with new and old advertisers and readers. £
