Fresh insights and opportunities are on the horizon for Farm Talk in 2021 as newspaper industry expert Robin Phelan joins staff as advertising director. Phelan will oversee and advise Farm Talk’s advertising department.
“I want to continue to strengthen Farm Talk’s almost 50 years of relationship with the local agricultural community,” Phelan said. “I’m tasked with helping our newspaper and advertisers move forward into digital options and opportunities while honoring the heritage of our print publication.”
Phelan has been a Kansan for 10 years, five years in Garden City and most recently, five years in Manhattan as the regional advertising director for Seaton Publishing.
Originally, Phelan called east Tennessee home and attended University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
“Over the years, I have been blessed to receive a wealth of experience in almost all aspects of newspaper industry from print marketing, circulation, composing, graphics, product development and marketing for various online products,” Phelan said. “My responsibility will be using those skills to continue the strong working relationships with Farm Talk’s local partners and readers.”
Phelan and his wife Myra will be relocating from Manhattan to the southeast Kansas area.
