With over 20 years in the livestock industry and five years with High Plains Journal as a livestock marketing consultant, Jeff Nemecek brings a wealth of industry-specialized experience to the Farm Talk team.
“I’m passionate about the livestock industry and look forward to interacting with producers and clients close to home,” Nemecek said. “I like to listen to the needs at hand first, and then find the best possible advertising strategy for each operation we work with.”
An eastern Oklahoma native, Nemecek judged livestock at Connors State College and Kansas State University. He spent 18 years in post-secondary education teaching animal science and coaching livestock judging programs first at Dodge City Community College and then at Allen Community College, before his stint in sales for High Plains Journal.
Nemecek currently lives in Iola, Kansas with his wife Carla and youngest son, Kyser, an 8th grader at Iola Middle School. Their oldest, Brody, is currently a Freshman at Butler Community College, following in his father’s livestock judging footsteps.
The family maintains a small show pig, goat and cattle operation, just for fun.
