Labette County High School FFA recently competed in the district livestock judging contest at Allen County Community College “Aggie Days.” The students competing in this contest were required to evaluate eight classes of cattle, sheep and swine. They also had to give three sets of oral reasons defending their rankings.
Results for this contest are as follows: A Team: Kaylee Houston, second place individual; Orren Taylor, fourth place individual; Rhianne Taylor, fifth place individual; and Jacob Rexwinkle, seventh place individual. Labette County took home plaques for first place team in both the district competition and “Aggie Day” competition.
Kyle Zwahlen, advisor said, “I’m extremely proud of the team for their hard work and dedication. It paid off with all their success.” This team, and others are working hard to compete at the state level in May.
