After the heat of summer, many are looking forward to fall colors and cooler temperatures — and to the Ozark Fall Farmfest.

On Oct. 5, 6, and 7, visitors will descend upon the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds for the largest farm and ranch show in the Ozarks featuring the latest in agricultural technology and rural living products and services.

“It’s truly a pleasure for Farm Talk Newspaper to be associated with this annual event,” said Lance Markley, Ozark Fall Farmfest coordinator and Farm Talk Newspaper publisher. “If you have any agriculture or rural living interest whatsoever, you will love the Ozark Fall Farmfest. For those who have joined us in the past, welcome back. New attendees are in for a great experience.

“Our free admission and free parking on the showgrounds policy create an affordable family outing,” he added. “Plan to enjoy a Springfield weekend as it can take more than one day to view the entire show.”

With 800 booths and over 500 head of registered livestock at the show, visitors will find plenty to see during the Farmfest weekend.

“We have a variety of exhibitors offering home décor, lawn furniture, cosmetics, clothing and apparel and more in our rural living displays,” said Brittany Gillig, Ozark Empire Fair agricultural director.

Area farmers and ranchers also will have some of the best livestock from the Four States in the barns.

Livestock exhibits will include Angus, Belgian Blue, Brahmousin, Brangus, Braunvieh, Beefalo, Beefmaster, Charolais, Gelbvieh, Hereford, Irish Dexter, Limousin, Longhorn, Maine-Anjou, Red Angus, Salers, Scottish Highland, Shorthorn, Sim-Angus, Simmental and White Park cattle in addition to horses, Boer goats, dairy goats, Katahdin hair sheep, swine, miniature donkeys and rabbits.
