The weekend kicks off with a dairy camp organized by the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Thursday and Friday, June 19 and 20.

Friday’s Dairy Days events include an Arkansas Dairy Ambassador Contest, Dairy Skill-A-Thon, quiz bowl contests, Dairy Olym-pics and an ice cream social.

The All-Breed Dairy Show, including Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Holstein, Jersey, Guernsey, Red and White, and Milking Shorthorn classes will take place on Sunday, followed by a dairy commercial heifer show.

The annual 4-State Dairy Days is organized by the Benton County Dairy Industry Association to promote the dairy industry by providing opportunities for youth to learn and compete in a fun, safe, family-friendly environment.

Event coordinator Nikki Crawley of Crawley’s Valley View Farms at Gravette expects to have more than 50 youths participate this year.

Crawley said advance registration is up due to promotion of the event as well as word-of-mouth recommendations from past participants.
